Get on Highway 2 about 20 Miles East of Monroe and right before you cross the South Fork of the Skykomish on Highway 2 turn right onto Mt. Index Rd the road continues into a private community so pretty much the only way to see the falls is to know someone who owns property in Mt Index Riversites.

On private land. Sunset Falls is a spectacular sight at all times of year. When the river is low and the granite is dry you can walk out near the falls. When the river is high it has completely ripped up the road that runs along the falls, along with pull up and remove the power poles. Adjacent to the falls is a fish ladder.
